Float valve Trays Internals Bubble Cap Tray For Distillation Towers
Bubble Cap Tray is a kind of tower internals with many advantages such as low pressure drop, big surface area , high mechanical strength and so on. Bubble Cap Tray is widely used to increase gas-liquid contact area to improve mass transfer efficiency.
Bubble Cap Tray has riser or chimney fitted over each hole, and a cap that covers the riser. The cap is mounted so that there is a space between riser and cap to allow the passage of vapour. Vapour rises through the chimney and is directed downward by the cap, finally discharging through slots in the cap, and finally bubbling through the liquid on the tray.
Function of bubble cap tray
To provide liquid holdup in order to achieve the proper vapor liquid mass transfer that the distillation process requires for separation. The function of the bubble cap tray is to facilitate contact between the vapour phrase and liquid phrase so that mass transfer between the two phrases can take place.
